CESARE  FORLINI, MD


Cesare Forlini, MD was born in Spinetoli (Ascoli Piceno) Italy on May 15th 1949. He graduated in Medicine at the University of Bologna Italy in 1974 and he took the specialization in Ophthalmology at the University of Ferrara Italy in 1979.
Dr. Forlini currently works as Chief of Department of Ophthalmology at Ravenna Hospital.

STAGES: He participated in 52 stages in Ophthalmological clinics both in Italy and abroad (France, Germany, Belgium, The Netherlands, Austria, U.S.A., U.K.).

FIELDS OF INTEREST: Vitreoretinal surgery and ocular traumas; Corneal grafts (Advanced techniques – Staminal cells- Amniotic membrane transplant;) Glaucoma and cataract- Advanced techniques; Complex cataracts with biomaterials; endotamponade; Bulbar Endoscopy.

SURGICAL ACTIVITY: Dr. Forlini performed surgical more than 10.000 surgical procedures of high and very high surgical complexity both in public hospitals and private clinics.

Participation in 47 courses of live surgery as a teaching surgeon (among which the latest are at the AAO in 2001 and at the S.O.I. national Meeting in Rome in 2001 and 2003).
Live surgery during ASRS (American Society of Retina Specialists) and EVRS (European VitroRetinal Society) in Ravenna-Cannes 2006.
Dr. Forlini is currently a teaching surgeon of the European VitreoRetinal Training School in Bremen.
